An evening to cherish

The 21st century has made our life so busy that we have to plan and schedule time for ourselves to have a time away to relax with the people of same thoughts and minds. Steve Jobs rightly said "Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.
Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition". Even if it is for one moment, it is important to live your life according to your terms.

God bless KC who had created a group chat a year ago and added the classmates from the early 90's. Her effort of bringing friends together paid off when many suggested for a class reunion. The first one happened in September 2018 but I couldn’t join the gathering due to the call of duty. A year later, the group yet again decided to go for another gathering and was scheduled on 17th August 2019. I was wondering how I would be able to converse with them after so many years.  I hadn’t met many of them for the whole 28 years.

As soon as I was dropped at the venue by my husband, I saw few of our
friends getting out of the cars and hugging one another. I joined the group and there were lots excited cries and giggles and lots of Hi-es. We had definitely aged but the excitement and the bonding we shared was just as it used to be years ago. We could easily call everyone by their nick names. (God forbid what our colleagues at work place would say and imagine if they saw us that way).
The evening passed on and we had lots to say about one another. Catching
up with the course of life we had taken, talking about grey hair and weight we had gained (on lighter note).
It was a wonderful evening well spent with people who matters.

* Note: Thank You Guriya and Daza for coordinating it and bringing us together after more than 28 years.
